TOUR AROUND KERINCI

Day ZERO - From Iport To Home Stay

Day 1 - Sungai Penuh

Arrive in Sungai Penuh and head straight to your homestay to meet the family and drop off your things.
Some activities to do in town:

  • Walk through the old neighborhood of Pondok Tinggi filled with traditional Kerinci longhouses. Head to the nearby Mesjid Agung. Built in the traditional style in 1874, it’s the oldest mosque in town, and still actively used.
  • Visit the lively Pasar, or wet/dry market, in the center of town. Get some Sarabi and other goodies for breakfast.
  • From the Pasar, grab a Bendi (horse drawn carriage) to some of the nearby batik workshops where you can watch the creation process (and maybe even participate!).
  • Take a motorcycle ride up to Bukit Khayangan or hike up the hill behind Sungai Penuh to get a beautiful view of the Kerinci valley from Mt. Kerinci in the north, to Lake Kerinci in the south.
  • In the late afternoon, head to Bukit Sentiong on the edge of town for the grilled corn stands and a nice view of Sungai Penuh and the Kerinci valley at sunset.
  • In the evening, visit Pasar Malam, the carnival-like night market, to eat Martabak, Sate, and other lovely street foods.
  • Drive up to Tapan Hill at night for some wildlife spotlighting (an additional cost for renting a vehicle and driver).



Day 2 - Danau Kerinci and Lempur

  • In the morning, head to the village of Pulau Tengah on the edge of Kerinci Lake. Meet up with some fisherman there for some canoe rides and to watch/participate with them as they fish.
  • Visit an English class at the local high school in the village.
  • Stop for lunch at one of the restaurants that sits atop or next to the lake.
  • Head further south to the hills around Lempur to see cinnamon farmers at work.
  • Explore the village of Lempur and the nearby lake of Danau Lingkat to take a ride on the bamboo rafts and enjoy the scenery.
  • In the evening, follow a local honey hunter as they harvest honey from wild Indonesian honeybees.
  • Meet up with your host family in Lempur and turn in for the night.



Day 3 - Lempur to Kayu Aro

  • After breakfast, head to the rice fields to watch the farmers plant and harvest the Lempur heirloom rice Beras Payo. Participate if you want to get your hands dirty!
  • Say goodbye to Lempur and head up to the Kayu Aro area. Don’t forget to pick up some Dendeng Batokok, grilled beef strips from heaven native to the area, in the town of Siulak Deras on the way up.
  • Walk through the endless green tea fields and take a tour of the old tea factory in village of Bedeng VIII (Delapan).
  • Eat lunch in Aroma Pecco, a small pond and oasis in the middle of the largest tea plantation in the world.
  • Visit the sugar processing ‘factory’ (really just some people in a shed pressing and boiling raw sugar cane juice).
  • Explore the coffee farms that are switching over to organic Arabica coffee with the help of a local NGO.
  • Head to the village of Pelompek and meet your host family.
  • Explore the village and check out the other highland farms in the area that produce cabbage, potatoes, chilis, etc.
  • Head back to your homestay for dinner and turn in for the night.

Last Day  - Back to Iport

LEMPUR VILLAGE TOUR 3 Days / 2 nights


Lempur villages namely One village is located in the District of Gunung Raya southern part of Kerinci regency , Jambi province . Lempur Village also divided from one village and four villages , namely Lempur Tengah, Lempur Mudik , Lempur Hilir, Desa Baru Lempur and Manjuto Lempur. Lempur Village Also still have a culture Typical local as Lembaga Adat still Chowder, from 5 villages are under the auspices of the institute customary namely Indigenous Institute Lekuk 50 Tumbi Lempur which is led by Ten Depati  and Sixes Ninik Mamak the pinnacle of leadership is Depati Court.






Day 1: Welcoming dance “Tauh Dance”



Arriving in the Lempur Village, you’ll be watching “Tauh Dance” as welcoming dance by community and then you are also joining the dance accompanied by the children in the village. After that, you have to go to the homestay and ready for dinner. Dinner will be served by the homestay’s owner. In the homestay you can join and get interaction with the owner.



Day 2: TOUR VILLAGE, AGRO / CULINARY TOUR AND LAKE LINGKAT


After breakfast participants will be taken around the village Lempur to see the activities of citizens Lempur in the morning for 1 hour. After enjoying the village atmosphere in the morning, participants will be brought again to the rice fields to study the process of planting or harvesting rice payo. Payo is a typical rice paddy Lempur people aged 9 months until the harvest, rice payo is very tasty and fragrant and the price is quite expensive compared with ordinary rice which ranges from 13-15 thousand / kilogram. Participants will be taken to visit a local community garden for lunch. After lunch the participants in the invite to view, learn and harvest of agricultural produce (vegetables - vegetables) to take home and cook in Home Stay respectively - each as dinner.

Afterwards, participants will be taken to Lake Lingkat within 10 minutes of settlement villagers Lempur. Arriving at the lake lingkat the tour participants will be taken to see Pockets Semar and also the harvesting process pitcher who will cook at home stay each - each. Because the pitcher is the food (typical culinary community Lempur). After participants recognize Nepenthes popular varieties and harvesting process, participants will be taken for a short hiking around the lake lingkat as he greeted the evening atmosphere on the lake lingkat or participants can also use rafts to surround the lake lingkat.

After a few hours visiting the lake lingkat and participants will be brought back to the homestay each - each and come cook with home stay owners of the results of harvesting vegetables and a pitcher to be made dinner. Break….





Day 3 : HIKING TO LAKE KACO

After breakfast, participants will gather in the place prepared by taxi to breefing taco short of the lake . After conducting a brief breefing , participants will be brought to the lake Kaco within about 2 hours walking . On the way to the lake Kaco participants will pass through the community gardens, indigenous forests and Kerinci Seblat National Park ( TNKS ) . In the journey towards Lake Kaco participants also can see the variety of birds and other animals such as apes , monkeys , gibbons and more.

Arriving at the lake Kaco participants are welcome to take pictures at the photo and go to lunch at the lake Kaco . After lunch participants also invite to bathe in the lake on the outskirts of the Kaco . After 1 or 2 hours on the lake Kaco , participants will return to the village and each home stay to clean clean . Further preparation Lempur check out tourist village ......
